Citrus fruit is sorted accurately and carefully by means of GeoSort. Special devices, such as a transfer unit with «hands» and the Greefa flap ensure very gentle treatment of the fruit. The system is composed of modules so that we can optimally fulfil any sorting requirement.

 

The SmartSort sorting unit has a remarkable speed and capacity. With its sorting capacity up to a maximum of 12 pieces of fruit per second per lane, it is the ideal system to process large quantities of citrus fruit. The fruit is treated gently of course.

SmartSort consists of various modules which allow for quick and simple adaptation to any capacity and sorting possibility required. The system is available with 2, 4, 6 or 8 lanes.

 

To sort citrus fruit, you can choose between the MSE Combicup or MSE CXL. Both sorting units have a special cup, which ensures that the citrus fruit keeps lying properly during transport along the system. The Combicup is specially intended for smaller citrus fruit, the CXL for larger varieties, such as grapefruit.

The MSE type is a tried and tested system of which more than 1,000 have been sold worldwide. The maximum speed is 5 pieces of fruit per second per lane. The system is available with 2, 4, 6, 8 or a maximum of 10 lanes.

 

If your sorting unit is equipped with the intelligent Quality Sorter (iQS), citrus fruit can be sorted by external characteristics. The iQS system includes cameras to take up to 70 pictures of every piece of fruit during its passage along the singulator. This allows for detection of deviations of as little as one square millimetre.

 

Internal quality

The intelligent Flavour Analyser (iFA) allows for assessment of the internal quality of citrus fruit. This module analyses aspects such as the brix value and even internal quality characteristics. iFA uses a light source to make a spectrum analysis which gives an assessment of the entire piece of fruit instead of just a small part of it.
