Although it is not always visible on the outside, every piece of fruit is at a certain stage of ripening. Greefa’s non-destructive firmness detection system allows you to sort by firmness.

The so-called intelligent Firmness Detector (iFD) gives you and your customer an accurate forecast and guarantee with respect to the storage life and ideal consumption time of your batch of fruit.

 

iFD is placed on the singulator. During the sorting process, a firmness sensor takes up to 20 measurements around the fruit. This patented firmness detection system has been successfully applied in practice, for example for apples, avocados, mangos, peaches and kiwis.
