Around 1952, the brothers Jacob and Anton de Greef discovered a challenge which kept them intrigued. Would it be possible to improve the speed and efficiency of the manual fruit sorting process? Established in the middle of the Betuwe, the Dutch fruit cultivation region par excellence, they sought and found the solution for automatic sorting work.

 

Their sorting unit, «The Top», became the first in a succession of increasingly improving and more efficient sorters. The clientele grew steadily and, with them, the variety of solutions and possibilities offered by the sorting units. After having worked on solid and well thought-out innovations for many decades, Greefa has by now become a worldwide reputed specialist in the field of sorting fruit and vegetables.
